I am currently a Graduate student at the CDM, Centre for Digital Media, Vancouver. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Calgary.
During undergrad, I worked as a research assistant then did an internship at the Agile Surface Engineering Lab at the University of Calgary. Upon graduation, I was a full-stack software developer for Solium/Shareworks by Morgan Stanely. In August 2019, I chose to return back to school to further my horizons and pursue digital media related opportunities. I have worked on more industry partnered projects at the CDM. Through my work experience and additional studies, I have gained experience working with Data Visualization tools, AR technology, Gesture Interactions, Multi-Device Environments, Web Development and varied industry clients. My interests lie with immersive and/or interactive technologies, innovative storytelling and sewing.
SamTapis a CDM team project to develop a SmartWatch and SmartTV inter-device communication feature. Using Web Socket Communications and NFC readers, it enables quick and efficient set-up to display information on a larger screen without authentication hassles.
Dungeons and Dividendsis a personal visual story implemented in a proof-of-concept Augmented Reality comic book experience simulated in the Unity Engine. This project was inspired by mirror illusions with geometric 3D objects that created two different perspectives in reality and the one mirrored.
Stay Warm_01is a 2D puzzle desktop platformer game where players must brace the winds to continue pushing forward and seek warmth. This was a side-project to discover and learn the more advanced features of the Unity Engine.
